THE REDKA REPORT

March 2008

 Dear Friends and Supporters:

It is hard to believe that in just seven weeks we will finish another year of Released Time.

  Here are some highlights:

- Recently 2 of Mark’s students moved from Jefferson to Waynesburg, where Roberta teaches.  Their mom told us that when she took them to register at their new school they insisted that they sign up for Released Time first, even before signing up for school.

- At the beginning of the school year Carla would come timidly down the hall with an aid to attend RT.  Now she comes by herself with a big smile on her face.  She eagerly completes her Call To Character lessons and recently earned her Explorer’s Club certificate.

  - Several of our students will reach the 700 point level (our top amount) by the end of the school year – several already have.  The top ten point earners will get trophies and a special party at a local activity center.

  - Kids are asking for our camp brochure (which I need to get done).  They want to invite their friends, too.

- One girl’s mom told her that she would need to earn a $50 camp coupon if she wanted to go to camp this summer.  She keeps asking me how many more points she needs (she only needs 60). She’ll make it.

  - When you mention “heaven” in the Plava RT class you can expect a lot of questions.  They have a deep interest in knowing how to get there.  Several girls in this class are working overtime to be in the top ten.

  - A boy approached me on the bus.  He wanted to be sure that he is saved.

  - Roberta’s Waynesburg class is slowly growing.  They may need a bus by the end of this year.

  - A church may donate their 15-passenger van to us.  They no longer need it.

  - We have received the occupancy permit for the new property, but we have several concerns about it’s wording.  Our lawyer is looking into this.   Keep praying for this to be worked out so that we can begin getting it ready for ministry use.

  - We had a great time at Director's conference and we are thankful for all the fellowship we enjoyed and for the ideas we gleaned while there.  We praise God for safe travel.

  - We have several new supporters, including a church in Florida and a local church where Mark preaches..  We praise God for His provision through His saints!

  - On Easter Sunday the transmission went out in our family van.  Thankfully it happened in our driveway!  God also provided an extra gift last month, which will help to pay for it.  Pray for our vehicles - we travel a lot in our ministry.  We are considering looking for something that gets better gas mileage (as are many people).

- Daniel just returned from his 6th overseas mission trip.  This one was to a deaf school in Jamaica.  He helped with several repair jobs, played his guitar for the team, played soccer

with the students and helped in chapel classes.

- April is missions month in RT.

The Redka Family

Keep praying for Gloria Cox as she recovers from cancer surgery.  She will need another surgery for her gallbladder and is facing chemo or radiation treatments.  She is our camp cook and we are praying that she will be better by then, but if not, we are looking for a backup.

Thank you for ministering WITH US through your gifts and prayers!
